NUCCA Chiropractor in Calgary
NUCCA care at Precision Posture covers more ground than a single "neck adjustment" suggests. Patients come in for neck pain, posture correction, headache and migraine relief, and dizziness or vertigo. These conditions often share the same root cause at the atlas, even though they show up in completely different parts of the body. Posture correction in particular is central to NUCCA care and because the technique realigns the atlas, patients often notice a visible change in how they hold their head and shoulders on top of relief from a specific symptom. A first visit starts with a full health history and postural exam, followed by X-ray imaging to map exactly what's happening at the top of the spine, so the adjustment that follows is specific to that finding rather than a standard protocol applied to everyone.
Physiotherapy
Our physiotherapy program is led by JoAnne Gratton, MScPT, a NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) Level 3 practitioner. NKT is a rare, advanced certification focused on identifying the true source of movement dysfunction, not just the pain site. JoAnne works with patients recovering from sports injuries, concussions, MVA and whiplash, and post-surgical rehab, using functional dry needling, joint mobilization, and individualized movement assessment (SFMA) to build lasting treatment plans. Physiotherapy pairs naturally with NUCCA care for patients working through complex, long-standing injuries.
Acupuncture & TCM
Bethany Templeton, Dr.Ac, brings over a decade of experience in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, offering individualized treatment plans that combine acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, and herbal prescriptions. Patients come to Bethany for pain relief, nervous system regulation, anxiety, insomnia, digestive concerns, and hormone balance, often as a complement to chiropractic or physiotherapy care already underway.
Massage Therapy
Our two Registered Massage Therapists bring distinct specialties: Shu Qin Cao, RMT focuses on relaxation, hot stone, cranial, and Thai massage. Shyin Dixon, RMT, BKin specializes in deep tissue, trigger point, and sports-focused massage, informed by her own background in hockey and football. Between the two, patients can find the right modality whether they're recovering from an injury or simply need to unwind. 90-minute sessions are in high demand and we kindly ask that you book ahead where possible.
Why Trust Precision Posture
Every chiropractic adjustment at Precision Posture starts with an X-ray, not a guess. Dr. Trevor Hillard and Dr. Zale Bonnett are two of only 300 NUCCA-certified chiropractors in North America and one of just two clinics offering it in Calgary. NUCCA's whole approach is built on precision: finding exactly how the atlas, the top vertebra, has shifted, then correcting it with a single, measured, no-cracking adjustment. Because the atlas affects how the rest of the spine sits, correcting it often addresses the root of dizziness, neck pain, chronic headaches, postural imbalance and TMJ pain that a typical adjustment wouldn't reach.
Trevor's focus tends toward headaches and general upper cervical correction; Zale specializes in the undiagnosed and misdiagnosed neck injuries and concussion-like symptoms that other clinics often miss.
That same precision carries through the rest of the clinic with JoAnne Gratton's NKT-based physiotherapy, Bethany Templeton's individualized acupuncture and TCM plans, and massage therapy tailored by Shu Qin Cao and Shyin Dixon to what each patient actually needs.
A Team Approach
Precision Posture is built on a simple belief: healthcare should be precise, evidence-informed, and collaborative.
After NUCCA chiropractic care resolved headaches that nothing else had been able to treat, Trevor created a clinic focused on helping patients find answers through objective assessment, personalized treatment plans, and coordinated care.
Today, Precision Posture brings together a team of healthcare professionals specializing in NUCCA chiropractic, physiotherapy, acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, and registered massage therapy. By working together under one roof, our practitioners share clinical insights and collaborate on patient care to create a more complete approach than any single discipline could provide alone.
Whether you're seeking care for headaches, neck concerns, posture-related issues, mobility limitations, or other health concerns, our team combines expertise across disciplines to provide thoughtful, individualized care focused on measurable progress.

Frequently Asked Questions
Instead of adjusting the whole spine across repeated visits, NUCCA targets the atlas specifically, with pre- and post-adjustment X-rays to confirm the correction. Many patients also see it happen in real time as position sensors let you watch yourself straighten during the adjustment itself, which isn't something typical chiropractic care offers.
No cracking, twisting, or popping is involved. NUCCA uses gentle, calculated pressure rather than the manipulation associated with typical adjustments, and many patients are surprised at how light the actual correction feels compared to what they expected.
Poor posture is often a symptom of an underlying misalignment rather than just a habit. NUCCA specifically targets the atlas, which plays a major role in how the rest of the spine, including your overall posture, holds itself. Many patients notice a visible difference in how they stand and hold their head after care.
NUCCA is our core specialty, but we're a multidisciplinary clinic. Our team also includes physiotherapy, acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, massage therapy, and custom orthotics. Many patients combine two or more of these as part of one overall care plan.
Yes. Because our whole team works out of one clinic, practitioners regularly collaborate on shared patients, so if physiotherapy or massage would complement your chiropractic care, that's a conversation between your practitioners, not a referral somewhere new.
Patients most commonly come in for headaches, neck pain, dizziness or vertigo, TMJ or jaw discomfort, and posture-related concerns along with sports injuries, concussions, and general recovery needs that our physiotherapy and massage teams support.
